Whether the concept of a Caribbean luxury beach resort getaway sounds tempting, you're in need of a much-needed tropical retirement home or looking for an island vacation for friends and family to share – the eco-friendly properties of Oceano Village is sure to satisfy all of the above and much more.

In this day and age, it is important to make the most out of our dwindling resources. With the Net-Zero living arrangements of Oceano Village, it is easy to embrace the concept of sustainable communities surrounded by a breathtaking setting that delivers island living at its best.

Besides the promise of treasure-hunting adventures and the warmth of soft white sands kissing your toes, I've compiled a collection of reasons why you should consider investing in or visiting this particular Caribbean village property – the perfect blend of quality, style, value, and convenience.

Good for the Environment

Imagine dwelling in a guilt-free zone, where energy, water and waste are efficiently managed without causing harm to the environment. Renewable tropical hardwoods and local limestone compose the bulk of building materials used in constructing the stylish abodes found at Oceano Village. Other eco-friendly features include Energy Star appliances, high efficiency LED fixtures, and solar street lighting.

Caribbean Rental Properties Make Money

You've probably already heard that Caribbean properties are becoming an increasingly hot possession. Not only can people looking for a profitable piece of the real estate pie effectively increase their income, but will also have the option to use the property for themselves when they are in need of rest and relaxation.

Breathtaking Coral Reef

Roatan Island is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world, where scuba divers and snorkelers explore an endless assortment of extraordinary Caribbean marine life.

Secluded Island Space

The majority of inhabitants living on the island of Roatan are situated at the western end – away from the luxury tropical properties of Oceano. While you may enjoy the seclusion of living or vacationing at this island hideaway, Oceano Village also provides access to a 3000-foot Oceano Club Pool; restaurants; café; dive center and dock; parks; botanical garden; golf opportunities; bird watching, scuba gear; tennis center; commercial village shops and moped rental.

Close Proximity to…

Reaching the island of Roatan is no problem. Reputable companies (like American Airlines and Continental) provide large-jet service to the Bay Island region with direct and connecting flights that depart from the Big Apple, Houston, Newark, Miami, Atlanta, and other cities like Milan and Honduras.

Tropical Temperatures

Roatan supplies vacationers and residents with tropical relief comprised of constant sea breezes and year-round sunshine. Typical island temperatures range between 70 to 90 degrees with a rainy season emerging during the late part of October until early January. The Roatan Island region also provides sheltered comfort away from the typical pathway of hurricanes known to pay a visit to the Caribbean area. Throw in the gorgeous sunsets and natural surprises at every bend and Roatan delivers your gateway to paradise.

Safe and Secure Setting

Oceano Village provides 24-hour security that does not impose on the beauty and atmosphere of the island's tranquil surroundings.

Fish All Day

If you've dreamed of retirement that offers the promise of endless fishing expeditions, allow Caribbean dolphins to guide you through the local waters of the Bay Islands – filled with marlin, sailfish, and tuna.

Great Value

The value of Oceano Village is undeniable when compared to the price of other regional properties, including luxury condos and beachfront real estate in the Caymen Islands, Bahamas, Barbados, and Hawaii. The first wave of Oceano properties includes Colonial-style White Sand villas, Cabana Beach homes with a Caribbean flavor, and South Beach condos displaying an inviting white stucco exterior.

St_Lucia_coat%20of%20arms.jpgWith World Travel Awards for World's Leading Honeymoon Destination for 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007, how can I ignore the beauty and allure of St. Lucia – an island nation located in the eastern part of the Caribbean Sea?

Not only is this island a gorgeous getaway for romantic trysts in the sand and the perfect place for newlyweds to lovingly gaze into the eyes of their soulmate – it is also the site of many home-away-from-homes for celebrities, such as the lean, mean George Foreman and Mick Jagger (of Rolling Stones fame). St. Lucia also serves as a popular stop for tourists cruising about the islands situated close to the Atlantic Ocean.

The scenic views of the island are breathtaking with shades of blues and greens that one can only dream of – surrounded by tourist attractions that produce some of the most spectacular photos. It is here that you can experience the only drive-in volcano in the world at Sulfur Springs (in Soufriere).

At the historic Pigeon Island National Park – an old British base called Fort Rodney pleases military buffs. The park is also filled with peaceful nooks and crannies with wildlife at every bend. You never know what fascinating creature of the local rainforest will peek its head out of the brush. Situated on the western coast of St Lucia – the hills of Marigot Bay are decorated with greenery the color of emeralds.

Other popular sites about the island, include:

St%20Lucia%20green.jpgSoufriere – At the Diamond Botanical Gardens, take a picture of the wondrous waterfall featured for a brief moment in the "Superman II" movie. In Soufriere, plenty of honeymooners also take the time to seek out the local historic mineral baths and beaches full of black sand.

Gros Islet – A haven for cricket players and also the site of the Friday Night Street Party (a major tourist attraction filled with food, music, and fun).

Castries – Home of the annual St. Lucia Jazz Festival

A Bit of History

Saint Lucia is one of the Windward Islands (joining Martinique and Grenadines amongst others) and was named for Saint Lucy of Syracuse. In around 1500, Europeans became the first to visit the land. However, it was the French who were successful in first colonizing the island – signing a treaty with the native peoples in 1660. Between 1663 and 1667, Great Britain took control of the island – battling France nearly 15 different times for power over the land, which was finally won in 1814. A representative government was established in 1924. On February 22nd, 1979 – the island became an independent state of the Commonwealth of Nations.

What a pretty penny the accommodations listed in this post cost, as the vibrant colors, luxurious sunsets, and unique amenities of the following tropical dream getaways are quite priceless:

Welcome to Miami

The Villa Miami XIII is similar to living in your own mini-town, as you not only get the spectacular recreation of a full gym, billiards room with bar, cinema-style theater, and heated swimming pool (with Jacuzzi), but also gain easy access to South Beach – all of which is situated within a gated community tucked away in Star Island.

The Spanish-style architecture is rather easy on the eyes – that is – if you get a chance to come up from air after taking a dip in the swim-in grotto and waterfall. Although the interior of the villa is fully decorated, you'll probably spend most of your time enjoying the breathtaking atmosphere.
